Here we are, the last week of the first semester of my Health Studies master's degree. This is also the final blog post for the course Critical Foundations in Health Disciplines. Stepping outside of my comfort zone and studying online, while working full-time and expecting a baby (oh, the pregnancy tiredness!) has been challenging through times. During the first week, I had this imposter syndrome while reading everyone's introductions. They all seemed to have many years of experience in the healthcare field. I'm a recent graduate and I have this very uncommon role in the healthcare system so it can be difficult for others to understand where I fall. I can say I'm proud of my learnings and confident I can tackle the next course, and the rest of this degree.

Throughout this course, I've learned the importance of a professional social media presence as well as the importance of a professional digital presence. I've also learned that keeping an active and updated e-portfolio with a blog is hard work. I will most likely put my blog offline after this course until I'm ready to commit to writing a few blog posts now and then.

I've learned important foundations of Ontario and Canada's Health system while discovering other provinces from my classmates. As I mostly work with the aging population, I've kept my focus on this population to increase my knowledge of where it is important for me.  I've enjoyed the design of this course, encouraging students to find their resources and participate in the activities that fit our learning needs is efficient. While I was in high school, we often used a similar format to this course and I've always found it interesting to constantly be in discovery mode. I was surprised during my undergrad to see that such learning was not encouraged.

The most challenging part for me was studying English for the very first time. I'm always a bit insecure when it comes to writing and speaking in English on an academic level. It's hard work and good practice that will give me lots of benefits in the future. To conclude, I've enjoyed this course and my learnings will help me throughout my career and futur education.
